It takes at least eight years to become a master cutter, and this is a collection that was made specifically by artisans who had reached the pinnacle of their careers as master cutters. It was launched in the 80s and was still available through the 90s. The collection was made by craftsmen using traditional methods and techniques; they used wooden tools, shaped the molten crystal by hand, and cut it slowly under a steady stream of water with a copper wheel. The Lismore Diamond Vase comes from Waterford Crystal’s Lismore collection. Lismore is the world’s best-selling crystal pattern. It was designed by a Czech immigrant, Mr Miroslav Havel, who helped to revive the company in the year 1943 and pretty much the whole crystal industry. He left a legacy with his beautiful designs.
